Skin needling, microneedling, collagen induction: one treatment

All three names describe the same thing. A medical-grade device creates thousands of controlled micro-channels in the skin, which triggers your own collagen and elastin response. Over a course this refines texture, softens enlarged pores and mild acne scarring, and evens tone. The name a clinic uses does not change what you should expect from the treatment or what it should cost.

What changes the price

• The device. A medical-grade needling pen with sterile single-use cartridges costs more to run than a roller, and treats more precisely at controlled depth.
• Add-ons. Serums, growth factors, LED or platelet-rich plasma are often charged on top, sometimes doubling the session price. They are not required for skin needling to work.
• Who performs it. Doctor-led cosmetic clinics charge a premium. Experienced practitioners in dedicated skin clinics sit in the middle. Very low prices usually mean a trainee or a roller.
• Location and overheads. Inner-city and Eastern Suburbs clinics tend to charge more for the same protocol.
• Consultation. Some clinics charge for the skin analysis. Ours is complimentary.

Why the course matters more than the session price

Collagen remodelling continues for eight to twelve weeks after each session, and the improvements build. A single session freshens the skin. A course of three to six sessions, four to six weeks apart, is what changes texture, pores and scarring. When comparing clinics, multiply the session price by the number of sessions recommended for your skin, and ask whether depth and product will be adjusted as your skin responds.

At $250 per session, a three-session course at Reejuvenate is $750 and a six-session course is $1,500. Course pricing is confirmed at your consultation once we have seen your skin.

Downtime, results and how it compares with a facial

Expect twenty-four to forty-eight hours of pink, warm skin, similar to a light sunburn, then normal activity. Skin often looks fresher within a week, and real remodelling shows across the course. A facial works on the surface and feels good on the day. Skin needling works in the deeper layers and changes how the skin behaves, which is why it costs more than a facial and why the results last longer.

Who should not have skin needling

We do not needle over active acne breakouts or a current cold sore, during pregnancy, or on untreated skin conditions. If you take medication that affects healing or have a history of keloid scarring, tell us at consultation. Suitability is confirmed in person before anything is booked.
